Fans will have place to Monkee around

Hey, hey – it’s a party.

A Monkees-themed gathering will take place at 8 tonight in the Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd., ahead of the band’s Friday show in the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion.

Hosted by North Side resident Chris Osborn – who has seen more Monkees reunion shows than he can count – the evening will feature central Ohio bands performing Monkees hits.

Memorabilia will be on display. Guests are encouraged to sport 1960s clothing.

It won’t be Osborn’s first such bash. In 1986, he hosted a Monkees fete at the since-closed Crazy Mama’s near Ohio State University.

“I still like the music,” the 55-year-old said. “It’s not outdated to me.”
