    Hi!
I am filled with saddness at the untimely death of Davy. Although he wasn’t my favourite Monkee (Peter fills that position) he made the group a whole, without his vocals we would not have had the pleasure we have enjoyed allthese years and I do mean all 45 for me. I was 11 years old when I fell in love with The Monkees and they have resurfaced in my affections many times. Every time I hear a Monkees song on the radio or TV I have to stop what I am doing and I am transported back in time to when I was a young girl and I float in a warm bubble of lost youth, then I see myself in a shop window or mirror and it’s back to reality.
I am happy that I managed to see the last tour, I treated myself for my 56th birthday and saw the boys at Sheffield City Hall. The seats my firend and I had were right at the back close the aisle. As soon as the Intro started I leapt out of my seat and side stepped towards the aisle so that I could dance, but I forgot that there was a step down and fell arse over tit, landing on my left wrist and then turned turtle with my legs in the air. I was so pumped full of adrenalin that I jumped up immediately and started jigging about like someone possessed for the whole show. It wasn’t till the end that I realised that I had badly sprained (possibly broke) my wrist which took weeks to heal. Hayley and I waited outside the stage door for over an hour after but were then told that the boys had already left. We missed our last tram and had to get a taxi back to the park and ride.
One of the things Davy said when he was doing his bit of banter was ‘I used to be a heart throb, now I’m a choronary!’ How profetic! I never imagined that 10 months later the world would loose him.
This was the second time I had seen Davy and Micky live as the Monkees, I caught the 2002 tour, but Peter wasn’t there. I did catch up with Peter on his own in 2005 though when he was one of the guests at the Cult TV weekend. I spent a whole blissful weekend in the same hotel, eating at the next table, helping him to set out his merchandise table and generally ‘stalking’ him. He was an absolute sweety though and posed for photos etc. He is a fab human being and I still love him dearly, 45 years on.
Love and Light to you all and to Davy the world is a poorer place but Heaven is enriched.
