Hey, hey it’s the Monkees
You can catch The Monkees, one of music’s most successful pop bands, live at the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 14. Tickets are on sale now and are $35, $50, $65, $75 and $85.
Celebrate nearly five decades of the band’s legacy when original members, Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork perform their mega-hits such as, “I’m A Believer,” “Valleri” and “Pleasant Valley Sunday.” For the first time ever, fans will also get to hear Monkees’ songs from their classic albums and rarely heard selections from their 1968 feature film “Head.”
Formed in Los Angeles in 1966, The Monkees debuted on TV screens with their eponymous NBC series and No. 1 hit single, “Last Train to Clarksville.” Their Emmy-winning TV show was a smash success over its two-season run.
While on their way to becoming pop culture icons, The Monkees were also fast-becoming among the top-selling artists of all time, scoring a dozen Billboard Top 40 hits — outselling both the Beatles and The Rolling Stones in 1967. The Monkees are also the only band to have four No. 1 albums in the same year.
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, the Monkees’ have reunited to record new material and tour around the globe.
The Monkees 45th Anniversary Tour will continue the band’s epic legacy into yet another decade.
