Peter Tork goes home following cancer surgery – Eric R. Danton | Sound Check
Former Monkees singer Peter Tork was released from the hospital Wednesday and is recovering at home after surgery last week to treat a rare form of cancer. The Mansfield resident announced the cancer diagnosis last week.
Tork, 67, will rest for several weeks before beginning radiation therapy for a slow-growing form of head and neck cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, said Therra C. Gwyn, who’s serving as a spokeswoman for the singer and actor.
“He’s getting a lot of support, which has REALLY kept his spirits up,” Gwyn said via e-mail. “And in turn he’s inspiring others in difficult health situations to keep their own spirits and hopes high.”
