Hi guys! This is so awesome! Thank you so much for putting this together! The little girl singing Daydream Believer with Micky at this show is my daughter Paris, a 3rd generation Monkees fan! It truly was something out of a dream, and something that I still haven’t quite wrapped my brain around! I feel so blessed to have been there to see them, let alone have her been given that amazing opportunity. Her goal in life has always been to become an actress and dancer, but this has definitely made her realize that dreams actually can come true! If you’d like to see the video, friends of ours posted it on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXOfLABtd9o
I agree with candybee58. Is there any way to get copies of these songs. I was at the show and what I was able to record was not as good as these are. Great Job!!!!
The best sounding recording yet! I thought Clevland was good, but this is great! I am guessing you will not let us download, correct? Thank you anyway!
Is it just me, or do some of these songs rock harder than the studio originals? As great as the studio versions of “I’m A Believer” and “Mary Mary” were, I think these recordings are better. Rather than a faded out ending for 60’s AM radio, Mickey adds souring vocals to the endings. Coco Dolenz’ gospel backing vocals on “Mary Mary” are extraordinary, giving the song a new dimension. Mickey is still the best pop lead vocalist of all time, even now, nearly 50 years later – but Mickey and Coco are also the best BACKING vocalists, which you hear throughout this recording.
“Early Morning Blues and Greens” brought tears to my eyes. I suppose I’m one of those psycho fans that adds his own interpretation to songs, but I think this song has new meaning when sung by a cancer survivor. Peter’s vocal is simultaneously sweet and harsh, sung by a man who has endured a lot of pain. The bass moans in the background as if some ominous presence is always there. The lyrics speak of a man who is happy to see the sun rise for another morning, drinking his coffee slowly to savor it, whether it tastes good or not.
I had the honor of being able to attend this concert. Thank you so much for posting!! I have to say, I wasn’t a huge fan of “Goin Down” growing up. Until I saw them perform it live and all I have to say is WOW! Micky did an incredible job and was all over the stage. My other favorite of the night was Sunny Girlfriend. Being there with Nez playing was more than I could ever hope for. Everything was awesome but these two stand out in my mind. It was surreal to be standing there 8 rows in front of the stage watching my favorite band since I was 8 (I’m now 37. Sounds cliche, but it really was like a dream 🙂

Is there any way to save these mp3s from Grand Prairie? I was at that show, but security was all over me every time I tried to record ANYTHING!
