The Monkees Will Monkey Around No More! 45th Anniversary Tour CANCELED!
You’re parents are going to be super bummed out.
If you were hoping to see Peter Tork, Mickey Dolenz and Davy Jones this summer, you better start checking Netflix for reruns of their show. It was announced today that their 45th anniversary reunion tour has been canceled for the remainder of their dates.
No word yet on how come, but Davy took to his Facebook page to express his regrets to his fans. Or more accurately, his rep did, saying:
“It has been determined that the remainder of The Monkees 2011 tour has been cancelled. No reason has been given at this time … We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued support of The Monkees.”
Secrets, secrets are no fun! What happened? Who did what to who? Tell us!!!
Whatever the reason, it better be a good one. We don’t suspect there will be many more opportunities like this. You guys aren’t getting any younger, you know!

I’m bummed about the cancellation! I saw them in Hershey and had tickets to Mtn Laurel Center.
Something interesting I’ve noticed in trying to find more info about the cancellation — there were two Monkees concerts on Ticketmaster that were not cancelled right away — Bergen County, NJ and Mt. Laurel, PA. Now, if you look around on Ticketmaster, it says the Bergen County concert is Davy Jones and David Cassidy! That seems to have happened pretty fast! Nothing re: the PA concert yet, but I suspect that too may become a Jones/Cassidy concert. Even if it is, I’ll want a refund, because I wanted to see Micky and Peter too!
People just didnt come just to see Davy, Micky, or Peter, they came to see the Monkees.
